Family report - $6000 (plus GST)

A Family report is an assessment focussed on the entire family situation, and specifically children’s needs, views, and attachments. The process usually involves reviewing the brief provided, interviewing the parties, conducting age-appropriate interviews with children, and observing children interacting with the significant people in their lives (i.e. usually the people they live with).

Family report with Psychometric testing of both parties - $8000 (plus GST)

A Family report with Psychometric testing is a family report that includes mental health and psychometric assessments as part of the report. This is useful when mental health or personality factors are issues in the dispute.

Mental Health and Psychometric Assessment - $2000 (plus GST)

A mental health assessment involves a mental health screening interview, completing questionnaires, and completing a psychometric personality and mental health assessment.

Basic Cognitive Assessment (WAIS-IV only) - $1000 (plus GST)

A cognitive assessment involves a background interview, and undertaking Wechsler adult/child testing.

Social Assessment - $6000 (plus GST)

A Social Assessment is an assessment focussed on children’s needs, views, and attachments. It is also focussed on the needs of each person or entity to help parents address any child protection concerns. The process usually involves reviewing the brief provided, interviewing the parties, conducting age-appropriate interviews with children, and observing children interacting with the significant people in their lives.

Parenting Capacity Assessment - $6000 (plus GST)

A Parenting Capacity Assessment involves a background interview, screening interview about aspects of parenting, and relevant psychometric assessment (cognitive or mental health).

Presentence - $1800 (plus GST)

A Presentence Assessment is for people who are pleading guilty or have been convicted on an offence. It is designed to assist the Court in making sentencing decisions by considering a person’s background, risk management, and mitigation. It usually involves a background interview, interview about the events relating to the offence, and relevant psychometric testing.

  • Attendance at Court to give evidence ½ day (9am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm) $1540 (Incl GST)
  • Attendance at Court to give evidence Full-day (9am to 5pm) $2864 (Incl GST)
  • Travel & accommodation – costs to be met by the parties
  • Travel time – Fees are location dependent on a case by case basis
  • Additional reading > 3 hours - $220 (plus GST) p/h. If the brief extends beyond three hours, each additional hour is charged.
  • If the psychologist is required to attend the Court to inspect subpoenas - $220 (plus GST) p/h
