She maintains currency in her skills through attendance at high standard training in areas relevant to all aspects of family and children’s matters, including but not limited to domestic and family violence, child protection, the impact of separation upon children, difficulties with shared care arrangements, drug and alcohol problems, and the range of common scenarios that are seen within family disputes.

Sophie’s expertise in the mental health sphere means she is well placed to grasp issues of a psychological and psychiatric nature that occur with significant frequency in her client population, whether that is directly in clinical practice, when providing FDR or child-centred mediation, when acting as a child-inclusive expert, or when formulating evaluations for the Court in disputes involving families and children.

Sophie’s background in family, child and adult assessments and her experience across the Family, Children’s, and criminal Court systems is valued by the legal sector and by families when she provides expert assistance in understanding the complexities of needs as clients negotiate adjustments required during stressful interactions with the Court system.
